2022 Swiss Household Income Trends Revealed
In 2022, the average Swiss household had a disposable income of 6,902 francs per month, remaining stable compared to previous years. Couples with children reported a higher average of 9,921 francs, while single-person households over 65 averaged just 3,381 francs. Disparities in wealth were evident, as the top 20% of younger singles earned over four times more than their lowest-earning counterparts. Monthly expenditures averaged 4,949 francs, marking a return to pre-pandemic levels. After mandatory expenses of 3,025 francs, households were left with about 1,546 francs to save, although lower-income households often spent more than they earned.
