Boeing Employees Approve Wage Deal, Ending Seven-Week Strike
Boeing employees have voted to accept a revised wage offer, bringing a close to a seven-week strike involving about 33,000 workers in the Seattle area. The agreement includes a 38% pay increase over four years and a one-time signing bonus of $12,000. The vote resulted in 59% approval from members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, following two rejected proposals. Despite the resolution, Boeing faces ongoing financial troubles, reporting significant losses linked to the strike and previous operational issues, including a planned workforce reduction of 17,000 jobs.
