The Italian government has deemed her arrest ‘unacceptable,’ and efforts for her release are complicated. Meanwhile, Sala’s employer has indicated they were initially silent on the matter to facilitate a quick resolution, but now have called for greater diplomatic action. Sala remains in contact with her family.
