France’s Culture Minister Reforms €300 Pass for Youths to Boost Live Events
Rachida Dati, France’s Culture Minister since January 2024, is planning significant changes to the €300 Pass culture aimed at youths aged 15 to 18 in the 2025 budget. The reforms prioritize live performances, independent bookstores, and print media to encourage cultural engagement. Dati has launched consultations to enhance the program’s impact, aiming to increase the share of spending on live events, which currently accounts for only 1%. Additionally, she seeks to promote independent bookstores and assess the Pass’s effect on the publishing sector and media literacy.
