A 29-year-old housekeeper from Flanders has been sentenced for stealing nearly €9,000 in wedding gifts and children’s savings from a couple she worked for in West Flanders. The theft came to light just a month after she was hired, prompting a police search of her home, where stolen cash and items were discovered. The court imposed a six-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of €208, along with restitution of €7,367 to the couple, who had recently celebrated their marriage.
