Netherlands’ First Pension Fund Transitions to New System by 2025
The Ber beroepspensioenfonds Loodsen has received approval from De Nederlandsche Bank to transition to the new pension system, effective January 1, 2025. This change marks a significant shift where large pension funds will allocate their assets into individual retirement accounts based on market performance. While Loodsen celebrates this milestone, they acknowledge the challenges ahead in ensuring fair distribution among participants. By 2028, all pension funds are required to adopt this new structure, with only three funds currently planning to do so by the deadline.
