Survey Reveals Smartphone Addiction Affects Nearly Half of Swiss Population

A recent survey by Comparis indicates that nearly 50% of Switzerland’s population exhibits significant signs of smartphone addiction, known as nomophobia. This trend is particularly pronounced among youth and residents of the Romandy region, with 40% finding it difficult to part from their devices. The survey also highlights a rural-urban divide, with 34% of rural respondents and 43% of urban respondents affected. The findings suggest that gender, education, and income do not notably influence smartphone dependency. The study was conducted by Innofact, surveying 1,050 individuals across Switzerland in October 2024.
