Greece Announces New Product Price Reductions Amid Inflation Concerns
Greece plans to introduce new price reductions in supermarkets, with over 360 products currently participating in this initiative. Soteris Anagnostopoulos, Secretary-General for Commerce and Consumer Protection, indicated that the reductions, ranging from 5% to 20%, aim to alleviate inflation pressures affecting consumers. A particular focus is on olive oil prices, which are expected to decline further due to this year’s harvest. The government is also implementing strict measures to prevent price gouging and ensure transparency in product pricing. More products are expected to be included in the coming days, potentially reaching up to 600 items by month’s end.
