CEO Pay Soars: CAC 40 Leaders Earn 95 Times More Than Workers
A report by Proxinvest reveals that in 2023, the average total compensation for executives of CAC 40 companies surged to 7.1 million euros, marking a 6% increase from 2022. This widening pay gap now stands at an unprecedented 95 times that of their employees. Bernard Charlès of Dassault Systèmes topped the list with a staggering 47 million euros, primarily from stock options. The report criticizes excessive compensation practices and highlights the disparity, noting only 18 executives earn below Proxinvest’s threshold of 5.6 million euros.
