Ongoing Evacuations in Brienz Due to Landslide Threat

Residents of Brienz, Switzerland, are facing mandatory evacuation as a slow-moving landslide threatens their village, forcing them to leave by Sunday. With the ground shifting 20 to 30 centimeters daily, local authorities have raised the alert to Phase Orange. Community leader Daniel Albertin acknowledged the emotional toll on residents, many of whom may not return until spring. Ongoing efforts are being made to secure housing for around 80 evacuated residents, with temporary accommodations arranged and support for local farmers affected by the evacuation.
