Dimitris Kourentas, the Governor of Thessaly, expressed intentions to collaborate with the Regional Education Directorate to fund school visits to Cyprus, specifically to the sacred site of the Prisoners’ Memorial. Following his tour of historical sites, Kourentas emphasized the importance of these destinations for Greek patriotism, urging all Greeks to witness the profound history and testimonies of those who shaped their heritage. He visited the Monument of the Mother of the Missing, honoring the tragic history of Greek soldiers. Joining him was retired Major General Ilia Leontaris, now in charge of Civil Protection in Thessaly.
