On November 14, 1998, the city of Volos welcomed its new Metropolitan, Ignatios, following the legacy of his predecessor, Christodoulos. The ceremony was marked by solemnity, attended by political and military officials, as well as clergy and faithful from the Demetriada region. Ignatios has since enhanced the church’s mission across spiritual, social, and charitable dimensions, establishing it as a hub for unity and dialogue, especially during challenging times. His ongoing commitment reinforces the church’s role in addressing the community’s needs amidst crises.
