Inquest Reveals Preventable Death of Ballymoney Patient
An inquest has determined that the death of Christopher Trolan, a 37-year-old patient from Ballymoney, was ‘preventable and avoidable’ due to inadequate antibiotic treatment at Causeway Hospital. Coroner Louisa Fee reported multiple care failings, stating that Trolan’s condition worsened after staff failed to properly review his treatment. The Northern Health Trust acknowledged the shortcomings and expressed condolences to the Trolan family, stating they are reflecting on the findings to improve future care.
