Russia Launches Major Aerial Assault on Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure
Russia has launched one of the largest aerial assaults on Ukraine, targeting cities and critical energy infrastructure as winter approaches. Ukrainian officials reported drone and missile strikes that forced power cuts in Kyiv and several eastern regions. Energy Minister German Galushchenko described ongoing attacks on electricity generation facilities. The missile barrage, which led to casualties in Mykolaiv, resulted in heightened security measures in neighboring Poland. This attack follows a significant missile strike in August that killed seven.
