Alexandra Mitsiali Explores 1973 Athens Uprising in New Novel

In her latest novel, “The Days That Cry,” Greek author Alexandra Mitsiali recounts the story of two siblings living through the 1973 Polytechnic Uprising in Athens. Set against a backdrop of political turmoil, the narrative follows Myrsini, an architecture student, and her brother Achilleas as they confront their identities amidst the chaos. Mitsiali was inspired by firsthand accounts from student protesters, which deeply moved her. The book highlights pivotal moments from the uprising and will be presented on November 16 in Corfu.
