Alpine to Partner with Mercedes for Formula 1 Engines from 2026

From the 2026 season, the Alpine Formula 1 team, owned by Renault, will shift to Mercedes engines following the discontinuation of Renault’s engine program in 2025. This partnership will extend to Mercedes gearboxes and rear suspension, although Alpine plans to develop these components in-house by 2027. This strategic move aims to enhance competitiveness after years of underperformance in F1. Alpine has undergone significant management changes since the dismissal of CEO Laurent Rossi in 2023, who had previously set ambitious goals for the team’s success in the sport.
