In France, Isaac Steidl, the founder of the site Coco, has been arrested for his role in facilitating the exploitation and assault of his then-wife, Gisèle Pelicot. The site, which aimed to connect romantic dates, was hijacked by criminals involved in serious offenses, including rape and child abuse. Following the site’s closure by authorities, Steidl turned himself in after traveling from abroad. The French police have also frozen approximately five million euros linked to the site, and Steidl has reportedly renounced his French citizenship for Italian nationality.
