Auchan Plans to Cut Over 2,300 Jobs as Part of Restructuring in France
French retailer Auchan has announced a restructuring plan that could eliminate 2,389 jobs across the country. This proposal includes closing about ten unprofitable stores, resulting in 466 job losses, alongside the reduction of 784 positions at headquarters and 915 jobs in stores. Additionally, Auchan will cease its direct home delivery service, impacting 224 workers. The move reflects ongoing concerns from labor unions about job security in the retail sector, as Auchan employs approximately 54,000 people in France.
