Bald Eagle Officially Declared US National Bird After 250 Years

President Joe Biden signed a law on Christmas Eve that officially designates the bald eagle as the national bird of the United States, rectifying a long-standing informal recognition. The bald eagle has served as a national emblem since 1782, featured on the Great Seal of the US. Jack Davis, co-chair of the National Bird Initiative, celebrated the decision, stating that no bird is more deserving of the title.
