Bangladesh Seeks Extradition of Ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India
Bangladesh authorities, led by transitional government head Muhammad Yunus, have announced plans to request the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India on August 5. Following her ousting amid massive anti-government protests resulting in over 700 deaths, an arrest warrant has been issued against Hasina for charges including genocide. The government aims to bring to justice all involved in repressing the protests, with former ministers expected to face similar charges in court.
