Beatrice Chebet, the double Olympic champion from Kenya, has shattered the women’s 5,000m world record at the Cursa dels Nassos road race in Barcelona, finishing in 13 minutes and 54 seconds. This achievement makes her the first woman to run the distance under 14 minutes. Chebet, who previously set the record in the same race a year ago, aims to continue her winning streak at the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo.
