Boeing Workers End Strike After 7 Weeks, Agree to New Deal
Over 33,000 Boeing employees in the Seattle area will return to work following a new labor agreement that grants a 38% wage increase over four years. The International Association of Machinists (IAM) has approved the deal, ending a strike that lasted more than seven weeks and cost the company over $10 billion. Despite the win in salary negotiations, the union did not secure the reinstatement of the previous retirement plan. IAM-District 751 President Jon Holden expressed pride in the union members’ efforts and emphasized the need to focus on production and returning the company to financial stability.
