Chinese Authorities Cease Search for Earthquake Survivors in Tibet

Chinese authorities have stopped searching for survivors following the devastating earthquake in Tibet, which registered a magnitude of 7.1. The focus has now shifted to assisting those affected, with at least 27,000 houses reported damaged and around 45,000 individuals displaced. Temporary shelters have been set up, and approximately 1,000 prefabricated, heated homes are being constructed. Rescue services have successfully saved 400 people from the rubble, but the chances of finding more survivors diminish as nighttime temperatures plummet to -18 degrees Celsius.
