The Municipality of Chios has enhanced its firefighting resources with the addition of three modern all-terrain fire trucks through the ‘Antonis Tritsis’ program. These versatile vehicles are designed for operation in challenging terrains and were requested by the former municipal authority in 2023. The current administration aims to train municipal drivers and volunteer teams in their usage to bolster the local fire department’s operational capacity. Chios Mayor Giannis Malafis emphasized their importance, stating they can access areas beyond the reach of standard vehicles.
