Concerns Rise Over Safety of Discount Toys Ahead of Christmas in France
As Christmas approaches, the French Toy Federation reports alarming safety issues with discount toys sold by Chinese websites like Shein and Alibaba. Laboratory tests reveal that a significant majority, up to 80%, of these toys pose risks, especially for young children. Items such as construction games with dangerous magnets and poorly designed plush toys may cause choking or injury. The federation calls for greater accountability from e-commerce platforms to ensure imported toys meet safety standards in Europe.
