Countries Gear Up for Ambitious Climate Goals Ahead of Upcoming Conference
As the climate summit in Azerbaijan approaches, several nations are unveiling aggressive plans to curb greenhouse gas emissions. The United Arab Emirates aims for a 47% reduction by 2035, while Brazil proposes a reduction of 59% to 67% by the same year. Critics, however, highlight that both countries plan to increase fossil fuel production, possibly counterbalancing their ambitions. The UK and EU have yet to formalize their commitments, with uncertainties looming over the effectiveness of proposed strategies. The summit’s outcomes could significantly influence climate policy in developing countries reliant on international support.
