The recent General Assembly of NHS doctors in Corfu has spotlighted the precarious situation at the hospital’s Pathology Department, which is currently operating with only two pathologists. The assembly unanimously concluded that this staffing shortage poses significant risks to both patient safety and staff responsibility. Concerns intensified after the coordinator has been left alone on duty for eleven days, highlighting gaps in healthcare provision. The union of NHS doctors stated they would not support any doctor maintaining this precarious operational status and has decided to escalate the issue to the public prosecutor’s office for intervention.
