Deadly Israeli Airstrikes Target Lebanon, Claiming 20 Lives
On November 9, Israeli airstrikes in eastern Lebanon resulted in at least 20 fatalities and 14 injuries, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. The strikes predominantly affected the Baalbeck-Hermel region, with the village of Knaisseh suffering the most casualties. The Iran-backed Hezbollah claimed to have launched several rockets into northern Israel in retaliation, targeting military installations. Earlier incidents reported five deaths in Hanaouay and six rescue workers killed in Deir Qanoun due to Israeli attacks. Israel aims to neutralize Hezbollah’s threat to facilitate the return of around 60,000 displaced residents in northern Israel.
