Denmark has declined Japan’s request to extradite Paul Watson, the 74-year-old activist and founder of Sea Shepherd, concerning charges dating back over a decade. Watson was temporarily held in Greenland after his arrest in July, but has now been released. The Japanese government had issued an international warrant related to an incident in 2010 involving Watson’s ship colliding with a Japanese whaling vessel in the Southern Ocean.
