Deutsche Post Increases Letter and Postcard Rates to 95 Cents Starting January 2025
Starting January 1, 2025, Deutsche Post will raise the mailing cost for letters and postcards to 95 cents, up from 85 cents. The price hike, attributed to inflation and rising wages, affects various mail categories, including compact and large letters, with increases ranging from 10 to 20 cents. The Federal Network Agency permitted the increase, limited to approximately 10.5% over two years. Despite the rise, Deutsche Post argues that the new rates remain below the European average, highlighting concerns over insufficient adjustments to address inflationary pressures.
