Devastating Wildfires in Los Angeles Destroy Thousands of Buildings
Recent wildfires in Los Angeles have devastated around 2,000 buildings and forced over 100,000 residents to evacuate. The fires, considered the most destructive in the city’s history, have resulted in at least five fatalities, with more casualties expected as firefighting efforts continue to be hampered by strong winds and drought conditions. Notable figures such as Paris Hilton and Billy Crystal have lost their homes, and historic sites have also been damaged. The cause of the fires is still unclear, although three individuals have been arrested for suspected arson.
