The Regional Health Director suspended the decision to transfer three nurses from the Mpodosakeio Hospital in Ptolemaida to the Intensive Care Unit at Mamatsion Hospital in Kozani. Thus, two employees will remain in their current positions. Mayor Panagiotis Plakentas announced that an Enhanced Care Unit will soon open at the Ptolemaida Hospital, addressing demands for the reactivation of the Intensive Care Unit which closed approximately a year ago due to staff shortages.
