Dutch Physiotherapists Call for Minimum Fees Amidst Staffing Crisis
The Royal Dutch Society for Physiotherapy (KNGF) is urging the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) to establish minimum tariffs for physiotherapists to prevent a workforce exodus. Concerns have been raised that without intervention, a third of the country’s physiotherapists could leave their profession within five years. Last year, 10% of physiotherapists exited the field, and many others are contemplating leaving due to low salaries, career stagnation, and poor working conditions. KNGF President Lodi Hennink emphasizes that inadequate tariffs not only harm practitioners but also limit patient access to necessary treatments.
