The European Parliament has approved two crucial legislations that will allow the use of EU funds for recovery from natural disasters. These bills will enable flexible allocation of resources from the European Regional Development Fund to support health care and basic needs after disasters, as well as compensations for agricultural losses. The measures aim to facilitate quick financing for rebuilding efforts in response to disasters occurring from January 1, 2024. If approved by the EU Council, funding could reach €3 billion between 2025-2027.
