As of today, Russian gas supplies to European countries through Ukraine have officially been cut off due to the expiration of the contract between Russia and Ukraine, with no new agreements in place. The halt, confirmed by Slovakia, affects countries primarily in Eastern and Central Europe. While the cessation of gas flow is expected to have minimal immediate impact, preparations have been made. Rising gas prices are anticipated as winter approaches, alongside a renewed dependence on liquefied natural gas imports from other regions.
