Fine Gael Unveils New Child Benefit and Childcare Policies
Fine Gael is set to reveal its policy on child welfare, proposing a permanent double child benefit to help families with back-to-school costs. The initiative includes a Pay-Related Parents Benefit, capping childcare fees at €200 monthly per child, and expanding the Hot School Meals Programme. Additional measures aim to enhance online safety, strengthen child protection, and create 30,000 public early learning spots. The policy, titled ‘Giving our children the best start in life,’ will be launched by senior party officials, including Deputy Leader Helen McEntee.
