Former Turkish Football Chief Sentenced for Attack on Referee
Faruk Koca, the former president of Turkey’s Super Lig club MKA Ankaragucu, has been sentenced to over three years in prison for attacking referee Halil Umut Meler during a match in December 2023. Following a controversial game that ended in a 1-1 draw, Koca punched the referee and threatened him after a red card decision.
