German Greens Propose Reform Instead of Abolishing Debt Ceiling at Bundesparteitag

During their Bundesparteitag in Wiesbaden, the German Greens declared their intention to reform the national debt ceiling rather than abolish it outright. Co-chair Felix Banaszak emphasized the importance of adapting to societal needs, urging a focus on sustainable state investments. Delegates also supported a move for a ban on the AfD, called for a 130 km/h speed limit on highways, and advocated for legalizing abortions up to 12 weeks. The party is committed to addressing public concerns and strengthening its position ahead of upcoming elections, aiming to regain trust among voters.
