Germany Sees Increase in Gas Consumption Amid Winter Months

Germany’s gas consumption rose by nearly six percent from October to December compared to the previous year, according to the Federal Network Agency. Industry usage increased by over nine percent, while residential and commercial consumption grew by only 1.9 percent. Despite the higher usage, the agency’s president, Klaus Müller, stressed the importance of gas conservation and noted that storage levels remain robust at around 80%. Overall, consumption is still significantly lower than pre-energy crisis averages.
