The Greek Red Cross played a crucial role in the recent 41st Authentic Athens Marathon, providing comprehensive medical care along the historic route. With a team of specialized nurses, 170 volunteer rescuers, and health volunteers, they addressed numerous emergencies including musculoskeletal injuries and fainting episodes. Emergency vehicles patrolled the course while the telecommunications team coordinated updates from the command center. Red Cross officials praised their volunteers for their exemplary service, while marathon victor Charalambos Pitsolis thanked them for their immense support to the athletes.
