Greek Regional Governor Faces Trial for Environmental Violations
Alexandros Kahrimanis, the Regional Governor of Epirus, is set to stand trial for environmental violations related to unauthorized works in the Lourd Riverbed carried out two years ago. The case, which raised significant public concern, follows a hefty fine of €181,871 imposed by Environmental Inspectors. Allegations claim these actions led to environmental degradation and the drying up of the river. The trial is scheduled for November 11, 2025, and the project contractor will also be summoned to court.
