Hamas and Fatah Agree to Form Governance Committee for Gaza Strip
The Palestinian organization Hamas and the Fatah party, led by President Mahmoud Abbas, have reached an agreement to form a committee responsible for governing the Gaza Strip following the conclusion of recent conflicts. Negotiations held in Cairo, under Egyptian auspices, led to a draft agreement that Abbas is set to approve by presidential decree. The committee will consist of 10 to 15 members independent of both organizations, tasked with managing humanitarian aid, education, health, economy, and reconstruction in Gaza.
