A woman in Londonderry thwarted a knife attack by swinging her dog lead at an assailant on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred in Top of the Hill Park, shortly after a separate sexually motivated attack took place in Drumahoe. Police suspect a link between the two attacks, both targeting women within days. The attacker, described as a white male in his 20s, fled the scene after being confronted. In response, authorities are increasing police presence in the area to enhance community safety and encourage any witnesses to come forward.
