Homebase Enters Administration, 2,000 Jobs at Risk

Homebase has entered administration, endangering 2,000 jobs as its owner, Hilco, failed to secure a buyer. Nonetheless, homeware retailer The Range has stepped in to acquire up to 75 Homebase stores and the brand itself, preserving approximately 1,600 jobs. However, 49 Homebase locations remain without a buyer, leaving thousands of positions at risk across remaining stores and corporate offices. The future of the retail chain now hangs in the balance as jobs and operations face uncertainty.
