The Kalamata Municipal Swimming Pool was inaugurated after a significant energy upgrade and reconstruction, completed in just seven months. The ceremony, held on January 5, was attended by local officials including Mayor Thanasis Vasilopoulos and the Metropolitan of Messinia, Chrysostomos. This renovation, costing approximately €1.5 million, was funded primarily by the EU’s regional development funds and aims to transform the facility into a modern, environmentally friendly sports infrastructure. Officials emphasized the project’s importance for the local youth and community.
