The number of individuals attempting to enter Greece illegally is steadily rising, with 179 refugees and migrants reported in the Chania region over two days. Currently, 54 migrants are being housed in Agia Chania after being found on the southern coast, while 50 more are expected to be transported from Gavdos. An additional 75 migrants were rescued in international waters south of Gavdos. Authorities are on high alert due to favorable weather conditions predicted in the area, which may facilitate further crossings.
