Indonesia Officially Joins BRICS Group as Full Member

Indonesia has officially become a full member of the BRICS group, which includes Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The country’s candidacy was approved in 2023, and its formal membership was confirmed recently. Indonesia aligns with the group’s goal of reforming international institutions and aims to enhance cooperation among developing nations. The BRICS alliance seeks to counter Western dominance and reduce reliance on the US dollar. Other nations such as Ethiopia, Iran, Egypt, and the UAE have also joined, with more countries expressing interest in membership.
