Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in a field near Bellanamullia, Co Roscommon. The woman’s body was discovered following a missing person’s appeal, which had raised serious concerns about her wellbeing. A house in Athlone has been sealed off as part of the investigation, with local gardaí and detectives from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation involved in the case. A post-mortem examination is set to determine if the woman suffered a violent death.
