Irish Food and Drink Exports Reach Record €17 Billion in 2023

Irish food, drink, and horticulture exports hit a record €17 billion last year, reflecting a 5% increase from the previous year. Bord Bia attributed this growth primarily to higher pricing amid inflation’s ongoing impact on the market. Dairy exports, valued at €6.3 billion, remained the largest category, while meat and livestock exports saw a 6% rise to €4.3 billion. Notably, drinks exports surged 19% driven by whiskey and a booming ‘ready to drink’ segment. The EU was a major destination, but the UK remained the largest single market.
