Italy’s Premier Critiques Superbonus as Major Budget Drain

During a meeting with labor unions, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni outlined the government’s budget strategy, highlighting a €30 billion budget and a projected €38 billion cost for the Superbonus in 2025. Meloni criticized the program as a ‘regressive redistribution of income,’ arguing that the funds could have better served health care, public contracts, education, and wage increases, fueling a debate over fiscal priorities in the country.
